Among the software of the same category, there are STE (Super Tag Editor) developed by MERCURY and its derivative versions, which can edit meta tags with a tabular interface like Excel.

The development of STE has ended but there are several derived versions.

I used STEP [SuperTagEditor Kai Plugin Version (Nightmare)] until I met Mp3tag, but the release of the new version is stagnant.

At the time of this writing, Kobarin's STEP_K (Unicode compatible version) is a new version being released continuously.

The big difference between STEP series and Mp3 tag is whether it can handle regular expressions.

The STEP series does not support regular expressions, but Mp3tag can use regular expressions and built-in functions.

Mp3tag can register and reuse actions for converting metadata. And, the action to be registered can be selected in the ☑ box.

Otherwise, you can create playlists and edit them, change the file name from tag information, or generate tag information from the file name.

There is also a function to batch export embedded album covers.

As a rule of thumb, the version with the alphabet added at the end of the Mp3tag version number is often stable, so I think Florian's comment may be highly reliable.

When I release this version, I feel like spring cleaning. I have significantly improved the Mp3 tag code base over the past two months and fixed a lasting issue with this release. I certainly felt this way before, but this time I think it is the most stable version of the Mp3 tags ever released
